Dr. Frederick Ametepe's career highlights the intersection of global health equity, mental health advocacy, and community-centered healthcare innovation.

With a career rooted in international and interdisciplinary health practice, Dr. Ametepe has worked in clinical and research settings across Ghana, China, New Zealand, and Canada. His professional journey includes service as a physician in Ghana, China, and New Zealand, research coordination at BC Cancer, and frontline crisis response with the Canadian Mental Health Association in British Columbia. Across these roles, he has provided trauma-informed care and high-intensity outreach to youth, families, and marginalized communities.

With his dedication to supporting students, newcomers, and individuals in crisis through housing, mental health outreach, culturally safe care, and mentorship for international medical graduates (IMGs) seeking to integrate into the Canadian healthcare system — bridging gaps in access and opportunity — Compassionate Nest was naturally birthed. Dr. Ametepe now serves as the Founder and Executive Director of this grassroots nonprofit, which provides inclusive support systems for those facing social, emotional, and structural vulnerabilities.
